Nitefall on the River has added four additional acts and one venue to its schedule this week. Eric Hutchinson (Aug. 5, $15) will perform at Simon Estes Amphitheater, which has been the series’ traditional home. For more details or to purchase tickets, head on over to www.nitefalldsm.com.
After a soft open that gave us some tantalizing glimpses, Lefty’s Live Music has officially opened with a big show on May 1. Dave Zollo, Joe & Vicki Price and King of the Tramps all helped welcome the venue to the Des Moines scene, and the venue — located in the old Hairy Mary’s building in Dogtown — is now open for business seven days a week.
Your Pick o’ the Week is at the Greenwood Lounge on Friday, May 8, as the above mentioned Joe & Vicki Price lay down some of the best blues music you are ever going to hear. There is no cover, but you should absolutely bring some dollars to tip the players. Music starts at 9 p.m. Mahalo. CV
