The Hinterland Music Festival announced its final three lineup additions for its inaugural year. Added this week were Justin Townes Earle, Madisen Ward & The Mama Bear, and Des Moines’ own Envy Corps. The Envy Corps will play on Friday, July 31, while Earle and Ward will both perform on Saturday, Aug 1. For full lineup information or to purchase tickets, check out www.hinterlandiowa.com.

The Des Moines Social Club is hosting a “State of the Musical Union” panel discussion on Thursday, April 30 in the Basement bar. Panelists include The Envy Corps’ Brandon Darner, Girls Rock! Des Moines head Rae Fehring, 80/35 mastermind Amedeo Rossi, Parlours frontwoman Dana Halferty, Maximum Ames Records’ Chris Ford, Wooly’s/First Fleet Concerts owner Sam Summers, and Sony Music’s Tobi Parks. Parks has also been tabbed to run the newly launched Station 1 Records, a non-profit record label that will be housed within the Social Club’s walls. Anyone interested in seeing what the panel has to say can head to the Basement at 6 p.m.
