The Des Moines Music Coalition has named most of the lineup for this year’s Little Big Fest, along with details of an expanded event that spans two days and five venues.

Kicking things off on Friday, Nov. 21, at the Cowles-Kruidenier Auditorium in the State Historical Building is a panel called “The History of Iowa Roots Music,” hosted by Brother Trucker frontman Andy Fleming. The panel will also feature music from Joe and Vicki Price, Dave More, Bejae Fleming and Patrick Hazell. That event will be followed up by an after party at Gas Lamp, hosted by the Reeferseed Express.

Then, on Saturday, Nov. 22, Wooly’s, House of Bricks and the Beechwood Lounge will team up to present Charlie Parr, Kevin Gordon, Brother Trucker, Brooks Strause, Holly and the Night Owls, James Biehn Band, King of the Tramps, Secret Freedom, Jinnouchi Power, Courtney Krause, Adam Bruce, Matthew James and headliner William Elliot Whitmore. Tickets for the event go on sale this Friday, Oct. 24, and are available through www.desmoinesmc.com, which is also your go-to place for full schedule information and showtimes.

The Pick o’ the Week is up at the Hull Avenue Tavern, where The Instants, Love Songs for Lonely Monsters and Doctor Murdock all play on Saturday, Oct. 25. Show starts at 9 p.m., and there’s no cover. Mahalo. CV
