The Des Moines Social Club has announced its fall and winter class schedules, and there’s plenty of stuff to be had for the music-minded out there. Starting on Aug. 19, Phil Young will lead a series of six-week “Intro to Studio Recording” courses. There are three different start dates between Aug. 19 and Nov. 10, and courses run $60. If you’ve already completed the intro course, there’s a course on advanced studio theory starting Aug. 18 that’s also $60. Finally, Kevin Drew is leading a course on song writing and music theory starting on Sept. 4. That course runs every Thursday till Oct. 2, and you can drop in for $20 a class, or take the whole shebang for $90.
