It’s time once again for the Des Moines Music Collectors’ Show. Hosted by the good folks at Zzz Records, the Collectors Show is a way for people to buy, sell and swap their records, CDs and cassettes. This month’s show is on Sunday, Feb. 23 at the Downtown Holiday Inn. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, and admission is just a buck.

The Pick o’ the Week will take you down to Gas Lamp, where Des Munks will funk your brains out on Friday, Feb. 21. Show starts at 9 p.m., and admission is $5 at the door. Mahalo.

Also on Friday, Vaudeville Mews welcomes in from Iowa City, The Sapwoods, which will headline a homegrown rock-and-roll line-up that starts at 6 p.m. and includes the likes of the metro’s own Diamonds For Eyes and The New Bodies. All ages are welcome in for five bucks at the door.

For central Iowa country music fans, Wooly’s is hosting local country-western wonder boy, Jason Brown’s EP-release party on Saturday, Feb. 22. That one kicks off at 8 p.m. Doors are at 7:30. That’s an all-ages show that’ll run you $10. CV
