It’s time again for the Des Moines Music Collector’s Show. This month’s show is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 8 at the Downtown Holiday Inn. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature 20 dealers carrying vinyl, CDs, DVDs, posters and music collectables. Admission is just $1 at the door, so head on down to 1050 Sixth Ave., and check it out.

This week’s Sound Notes Pick o’ the Week is the Writer’s Round Table at Vaudeville Mews on Wednesday, Dec. 11. Featuring the talents of Canby’s Scott Yoshimura, Bright Giant’s Josh Davis, Parlours’ Dana Halferty and MaryBeth Doran, it’ll be an evening of original music and stories with four of the city’s best young writers.
