The Des Moines Music Coalition (DMMC) has announced the festival dates for next year’s 80/35 Music Festival. The event is traditionally held the same weekend as the Fourth of July, and this year is no different, with Friday, July 4 and Saturday, July 5 being tabbed. Also worth noting, however, is that 2014 will mark the first year that 80/35 will be a full two-day event. Previous editions have kicked off in the late afternoon/early evening on Friday, but 2014 will see the event open at noon on both days.
Speaking of 80/35, the DMMC has also opened the doors for submissions. Anyone interested in playing next year’s fest can drop a line to email@example.com between now and March 1. Band suggestions are also being taken at the Festival’s official Facebook page or via Twitter at @8035.
The Sound Notes Pick o’ the Week is Megan Burtt, performing at The GrapeVine on Saturday, Nov. 30. The event is RSVP-only, so hit up Bonita Crowe at firstname.lastname@example.org to book your seats. Mahalo. CV
