Sound Notes Pick o’ the Week

It’s time for another Musicians Swap Meet at House of Bricks on Sunday, March 10. There’s no charge to browse or display, so bring your gear, bring your cash and bring your haggle hat. Walk out with some new toys.

On Thursday, March 7, Vaudeville Mews plays host to the best thing out of Los Angeles since “L.A. Law,” Lovely Bad Things. The garage pop four-piece performs an all-ages show starting at 6:30 p.m. with Dhobi Fats and Brenton Dean opening. Admission is $7 at the door.

Also on March 7, The Coda Lounge has Rainbow Penley performing from 6 to 9 p.m. No cover.

The Sound Notes Pick o’ the Week is on Friday, March 8, when Wooly’s will be the place to be for Lesson7, playing along with Mike Borgia, He(C.U.)LL and Angry Chair. That show kicks off at 9 p.m., and tickets are $10, available at www.ticketfly.com.

Also on March 8, The Ritual Café has Canada’s Danielle French performing at 7 p.m.

Additionally on March 8, The Standard has Decoy performing at 9 p.m. No cover.

Saturday, March 9, House of Bricks has Social Schade and Deadnote performing at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $10, and your first drink of the night is on the house.

Also on March 9, you can go to Hessen Haus, grab a boot of beer and polka the night away, courtesy of Bill Koncar. The entertainment starts at 6 p.m.

Also happening on March 9, D.D.E.P., fresh off its European tour, performs at The Venue as a part of the St. Patty’s 5K Bar Run. That show runs from 6 to 9 p.m.

The Underground Rock Shop brings Fargo, N.D.-based pop-punk act Downside to town on Sunday, March 10 as a stop on the band’s “Pizza and Friends Tour.” That show gets underway at 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, March 12, Vaudeville Mews has Vancouver-based alt rockers Rococode performing an all-ages show starting at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $7 at the door, and Sally Sold the Sea, The Beaches and Chandra Kundsen all give opening performances.

Also on March 12, Gas Lamp plays host to The Aggrolites. The Reggae group performs at 8 p.m. with Angers Powers, Ego and Come Unity all opening. Tickets are $17.50 in advance through tikly.co or $25 at the door.

El Bait Shop has shows on back-to-back nights to close out the coverage week. First up is Rob Lumbard performing on Tuesday, March 12. Then on Wednesday, March 13, there’s Infuzion. Both shows kick off at 8 p.m., and both are cover-free.

Also on Wednesday, March 13, Max Wellman and His String Quartet performs at the Fourth Street Theater starting at 7 p.m.

One final note for March 13 is at Mars Café, with Clean Cause Concert featuring SAMPOL performing from 7 to 8 p.m. No cover. Mahalo. CV
