Well, it’s that time of year again. Lazerfest announced its 2014 lineup, and the results have certainly had people talking. Headlining the event this summer are Queens of the Stone Age and The Offspring. Joining them for the May 11 event are Skillet, Theory of a Deadman, Machine Head, The Pretty Reckless, Pop Evil, Adelitas Way, J. Roddy Walston and the Business, We Came as Romans, Thousand Foot Krutch, Redlight King, Powerman 5000 and Chelsea Wolfe, all of whom will be joined by the winner of the LAZERfest Battle of the Bands, Des Moines’ own Green Death.

The Pick o’ the Week is the “Bottoms Up Blues Bash” at Wooly’s on Saturday, March 8. The Colon Cancer Awareness Month fundraiser features Bob Dorr and The Blues Band, The Jean Marie Salem Project and Dustin Busch and Mark Janssen. It’s all-ages, and doors are at 5 p.m. Mahalo. CV
