DRIVING AND PARENTING ARE PRIVILEGES

Police stopped a car for speeding on April 16 at 12:20 a.m. at the 2000 block of Interstate 235. Upon investigation, the female driver admitted she had given a false name to police. She also had a baby in the right rear seat in a car seat that was not buckled in. The child would have been thrown out of the car if it had crashed. She was arrested for speeding, no driver’s license, no insurance and failure to secure a child.

Police were waved down on East 12th Street and Ovid Avenue at 7 p.m. on April 15 by a woman claiming a man had tried to coax her daughter and a friend into a dark blue car. The girls ran away after being asked to get in by a white male around 30 years old with no facial hair, no glasses and a red shirt.

MOTEL CASANOVA

Police arrived outside of Lina’s Restaurant on reports of a robbery on April 13 around 4 a.m. The victim there claimed that he was held at gunpoint by two men who stole his wallet and car keys at the Hawkeye Motel. The motel owner told police the victim often brought new women to the hotel and was a regular. No suspects were identified. CV
