TOO PLEASANT OF A VIEW
An officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Pleasant View Drive after a homeowner called to report a burglary of cash and jewelry. The suspect entered through a window by removing a screen. The crime occurred sometime between 1 and 9:50 p.m. on May 22.
ONE DEEP CUT
Allied Construction reported the theft of a cement saw valued at $25,000 on May 21. The saw was last seen on May 19 at a worksite located on the corner of Southeast 63rd and Mckinley. The site was unsecured at the time of the theft.
HOT CAMARO
A man called police after witnessing the theft of his Camaro on a home security system. The suspects were described as two approximately 13-year-old Hispanic boys. The victim said he saw one of the suspects on his property, located on the 1800 block of 12th Street in Des Moines, the week prior. The suspect entered the car through an unlocked passenger door. The car was not recovered as of press time.
HOT GARAGE
Police assisted the fire department regarding a garage fire at the 3000 block of York in Des Moines where the building was reportedly engulfed in flames. The victim said the fire ignited after he started his car and that he suspected a gas line had broken, and the engine heat ignited the fire. CV
