The lineup includes local and nationally-renowned authors, interactive activities and more.

What: The Wonder of Words Festival will take place this weekend in Downtown Des Moines. The Festival features presentations and book signings by authors of both national and local acclaim, as well as workshops, children’s entertainment/activities and a storytelling competition. Authors will include Caron Levis, author of “Ida, Always,” Debra Prinzing, author of “Slow Flowers” and Maureen Corrigan, a book critic for NPR’s “Fresh Air” and author of “Leave Me Alone, I’m Reading” and “So We Read On: How The Great Gatsby Came to Be and Why it Endures.”

When: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 22.

Where: Des Moines Public Library Central Library, 1000 Grand Ave., Downtown Des Moines.
