CHRISTINA MOFFATT RECEIVES DMACC OUTSTANDING ALUMNI AWARD

4/19/2017

GREATER DES MOINES, IA – Greater Des Moines Partnership Director of Small Business Development Christina Moffatt has won the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Outstanding Alumni Award. Moffatt was presented the award on Tuesday, April 18 at the 2017 Alumni Awards Ceremony and Banquet at the DMACC Ankeny Campus.

The award is the highest honor given to DMACC alumni by the DMACC Alumni Association. The Association established this award in 1987 to recognize alumni who provide service to their community, have had great professional or personal achievement since graduation and continue to be involved in the life and work of DMACC.

Moffatt has worked at The Partnership since January, where she works closely with The Partnership’s small business members to connect them to available resources, with a heavy focus on helping accelerate minority, women and veteran-owned small business growth. Prior to her role at The Partnership, Moffatt most recently served as Regional Director for the Iowa Small Business Development Center, overseeing Dallas, Polk, Jasper, Warren and Marion Counties. She is also the owner of the award-winning Crème Cupcake + Dessert, which she founded in 2010.

“This is a well-deserved recognition for Christina, who has been a champion of her community and her alma mater,” said Meg Schneider, Senior Vice President of Business Resources and Community Development at The Partnership. “Christina has made a difference in the lives of countless small business owners enriching our economic ecosystem.”

Moffatt has also been an active member of the Greater Des Moines community, as a volunteer and board member for many local organizations.
