Vote Smart and Drake University Join Forces

Vote Smart and Drake University are inviting Iowans to a “Facts Matter” office opening celebration.

Vote Smart is a political research organization started by presidents Ford, Carter and 38 other leaders. The organization is opening a national research center at Drake University that tracks the public records of federal and state elected officials and candidates.

“It is a celebration of the essential requirement for truth in a healthy democracy. This collaborative effort will enable every citizen to defend their right to the facts on thousands of politicians,” said Richard Kimball, Vote Smart president.

After short presentations by Mr. Kimball and Drake President Marty Martin, citizens will enjoy an office tour, hors d’oeuvres, and demonstrations on how to defend themselves from the often manipulative tactics used by modern-day politicians.
