Chantelle Cameron (13-0, KO7) has bags of potential, and ‘Il Capo’ puts her WBC Super Lightweight title on the line for the first time, as the Northampton native takes on Puerto Rican, Melissa Hernandez (23-7-3, KO7).

Cameron won her belt in October 2020, taking all ten rounds in an excellent points win against Adriana dos Santos Araujo in Milton Keynes, and the 30-year-old has been largely punch perfect in her career to date.

BetMGM (as of Thursday, May 27) has Haney installed as a massive favorite — coming in at -1000, meaning you’d need to bet $1,000 to win $100. Meanwhile, Linares is a +700, meaning if you pluck down $100, you will win $700.

Haney (25-0, 18 KOs) makes his 2021 after successfully defended the WBC belt with lopsided decision wins over Alfredo Santiago in November 2019 and, most recently, Yuriorkis Gamboa in November.

Linares (47-5, 29 KOs) also steps through the ropes for the first time in 2021 but is doing so after a 15-month layoff. He returns to the big stage as a winner of back-to-back contests after having previously suffered setbacks in two of his three previous fights. Linares steps back into the ring for the first time since an impressive fourth-round knockout of Carlos Morales in February 2020.

The main event features Devin Haney putting the WBC lightweight title on the line against Jorge Linares.

As always with a big-time boxing card, there are certainly plenty of bets to be made. Let’s take a look at some of them.

Linares’ best years are behind him, and he was once a three-division champion. But in 2018 he lost to Vasiliy Lomachenko and many noted that it was the beginning of the end. Still, he managed to send Vasily to a knockdown.

In a thrilling contest, the Ukrainian was down in the sixth and the pair couldn’t be split after ten rounds before Lomachenko dropped and halted Jorge in the tenth.

Again, he rebuilt, but a move to ten stone ended in failure, as Pablo Cesar Cano dropped him three times in a ruthless one round win.

Linares has won twice since back at Lightweight, his last a fourth round knockout win in February 2020 against Carlos Morales in Anaheim.
