Don’t
be cruel
Being an Elvis impersonator isn’t
for everyone. It is a true talent
that must be perfected, not only
in the way one speaks and acts,
but in how one looks, too. For
some, it comes naturally; for
others, it is a learned skill.
But for Micky King, it truly is
now or never.
Reporter Jason Hancock shares
King’s story in this week’s cover,
from when he realized that he
sounded like Elvis, to his life-changing
automobile accident, to his ultimate
decision to have $12,000 in plastic
surgery to make himself look like
a big hunk o’ love.
Are there suspicious minds?
Absolutely. In fact, King himself
realizes that many people think
he’s all shook up. But that won’t
send this performer to the heartbreak
hotel. And although some may say
he doesn’t look much more like
Elvis than he did prior to the
surgery, he keeps the mystery
train rolling. The plastic surgeon
who did the work recognizes that
King’s self confidence from the
surgery will fuel the burning
love for his performances, and
that’s the ultimate goal.
Will the surgery pay off for
King? Time will tell, but he’s
banking on more gigs coming in
any day now. And we wish him good
rocking tonight.
Thanks for reading.
