An addiction
to predictions
Su Walker’s look at
what 2008 will bring
We hesitantly delved in to this
week’s cover story about predictions
from a local, yet internationally
renowned, clairvoyant and medical
intuitive… or what most of us
refer to as “a psychic.”
When editor Michael Swanger
suggested the idea, I initially
was concerned that this type of
story may take us a step backwards.
We have worked diligently to provide
true news coverage in our pages,
with the exception, of course,
in a certain issue in April. The
idea of having Cityview in the
realm of supermarket tabloids
that tell us Elvis will reappear
or that aliens have stolen Britney
Spears underwear was a bit disturbing
to me.
I got over it.
You see, we, too, are intrigued
by predictions, especially those
with local angles. And it is hard
to argue with Su Walker’s track
record of accuracy. If you are
curious about the presidential
election, the Iraq war or gas
prices, read on for her predictions.
How about the weather, local media
or whether Iowa State will be
victorious next fall? Will the
Iowa Energy make it? Will Kirk
Ferentz be coaching elsewhere?
And back to issues that truly
matter, will there be another
terrorist attack in the United
States?
If you are like me, you are
skeptical, and you should be.
But I am still fascinated by what
the future may bring, and whether
or not anyone can truly foresee
it. Am I convinced? Not yet, but
I predict we will all know the
outcome soon.
Thanks for reading.
