Plenty
to do this fall
A & E guide packed
with information
The change of seasons brings
a new mindset for entertainment
options here in Central Iowa.
For some, it is the time for football
— and nothing else. But those
with a broader scope will find
great interest in our coverage
of upcoming film, art, music,
theater and outdoor events in
this week’s issue. There truly
is something for everyone.
If live music is your thing,
check out the event that the Historic
Court Avenue District will host
this holiday weekend. Or see a
new film that will be released
with big stars such as Jerry Seinfeld,
Denzel Washington, Nicolas Cage,
Ryan Gosling, Uwe Boll, Jessica
Alba or Billy Bob Thornton. Better
yet, get on the bus with Art Stop
and visit some of Des Moine’s
culturally-inclined neighborhoods.
Reserve your tickets now at the
Des Moines Playhouse for “Cats,”
which comes to town in September.
Or relax and take a horse-drawn
wagon ride through Jester Park
with a naturalist on board at
the Jester Park Equestrian Center.
These are just a few ideas; you
will find many more inside with
specific information on dates,
times, tickets and prices.
This is by no means an all inclusive
guide, but it does show the range
of activities that are available
here in Central Iowa. Look to
Cityview each week for yet-to-be-released
information on upcoming events.
And, as always, thanks for reading
