A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND
A woman walked into Christopher’s Jewelers
just after 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 18. She asked
to try on an $11,000 diamond ring, which she
was still wearing when she asked to also see
a pair of earrings. But when the clerk refused
to get the earrings until the woman gave back
the ring, the woman took off running out the
door still wearing the ring. The clerk and another
employee chased her and caught up to her behind
the store. They managed to get the ring from
her finger. Then the suspect allegedly kicked
the clerk in the knee and “calmly walked away.”
Police were called, and investigators confiscated
the video surveillance tapes. They continue
to search for the alleged suspect.
CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON
A couple was living with a friend at the 3200
block of Third Street. The friend came home
around 11 p.m. angry about the couple “fighting
all the time” and wanted them to move out. He
was allegedly armed with two hydraulic jack
handles, which he swung at the male half. The
couple fled the house, but the alleged suspect
then traded in the jack handles for a sword.
By the time police arrived, the male victim
was armed with a rake “confronting” the suspect
who reportedly had came at him with a baseball
bat before ditching the bat for a butcher knife.
Both were detained at gunpoint and handcuffed.
SANDWICH SLAYER
Police were called to the 2400 block of Welbeck
regarding a fight between two roommates. The
alleged suspect was leaving for work at a night
shift. When she went to get her pre-made lunch,
she reportedly found her roommate eating it.
They started arguing, and she allegedly slapped
him in the face. A third roommate broke up the
fight. The male victim called police to have
the alleged suspect arrested since “she has
a history of physical abuse.” So she was arrested
and charged with simple assault. CV |
