FRAT HOUSE FIRE

A frat brother was watching TV when he heard a fire alarm in the next room on May 9 at a fraternity house at the 1300 block of 34th Street. When he went to investigate, he discovered the curtains were on fire. Another housemate extinguished the fire, and they called police. The only thing found to be out of the ordinary was a bottle of Ten High whiskey open on the floor that no one knew how it got there and alcohol spilt on a rug. Although one of the brothers had been kicked out in February, they did not suspect him.

OFFICER ALI

An officer stopped a vehicle at the 1900 block of Clark Street on May 7 to find a 17-year-old “known gang member” as a passenger. The suspect attempted to flee from the car, so the cop grabbed him by the arm and maced him. The suspect threw elbows at the cop’s face, hitting him in the shoulder, so the cop reportedly “delivered several close-fist blows” to the kid’s face to gain control. The suspect fought back forcefully, then ran away. He was eventually caught and charged with assaulting a police officer causing injury.

THINGS GOT ROCKY

Police received several calls on May 8 about a guy damaging properties near the 1300 block of East Euclid Avenue. He reportedly threw a wooden pallet against the Infinite Seasons building and broke a window with a rock. Cops searched him to find a rock in his pocket. A woman who was with him told police the suspect had a bad temper, and they had been fighting. CV
