BASEBALL CARD BANDIT

Police were dispatched to Budget Storage at the 2500 block of Southeast 14th Street to investigate a report about several storage units with their padlocks cut. The incident occurred sometime between March 4-5. One unit holder reported a box containing more than 2,000 baseball cards was missing from his storage. No one else reported items missing. No value of the cards was reported, and police have no suspects.

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCHER

A man noticed a suspicious vehicle driving slowly along the 2500 block of Eighth Street, and the passenger would reach out of the window and check the door handles of parked cars until they eventually found one that was unlocked. She and the male driver then got out and reportedly ransacked the vehicle and took a bag from the trunk. When the observer confronted them, knowing it was his neighbor’s car, the couple fled on foot, back to their vehicle and drove off. A related report was filed by police regarding another ransacked vehicle in the area from where the victim’s $200 prescription sunglasses were stolen. Police soon pulled over a vehicle that matched the witness’ description. The man and woman were arrested, charged with burglary and all property was recovered.

FACEBOOK BASHING

Two women got into a fight around 10:20 p.m. on March 6 after one was arrested and the other took her mug shot from the Internet and put it on her Facebook to make fun of her. The alleged suspect went to the alleged victim’s house at the Oakridge Building Apartments and the argument led to her hitting the victim in the head with a blunt object. The victim, who is eight months pregnant, had a cut above her eye as a result. A warrant was requested. CV
