Hoyt Sherman Theater hosts contemporary country music singer Trace Adkins ($45 and $75) on Thursday, March 8 at 8 p.m. and veteran honky tonk singer Don Williams ($35-$59) on Monday, March 12 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.

The Val Air Ballroom hosts hip-hop artist Tyga ($25) on Thursday, March 8 at 8 p.m. and Celtic music group Gaelic Storm ($25) on Saturday, March 10. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.

Americana act Truckstop Souvenir plays the “Lunch Unplugged” concert series at the Temple for Performing Arts on Friday, March 9 at noon. Tickets are $8 or $15 with lunch.

Singer-humorist Craig Carothers performs Saturday, March 10 at 7 p.m. at the Anchor Coffee House at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Tickets are $12 in advance (274-1534).

Irish folk music band Makem and Spain Brothers perform Saturday, March 10 at 8 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and School. Tickets are $25. Visit http://www.thecma.org.

The Synergy Jazz Foundation hosts guitarist Corey Christiansen on Saturday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Drake University’s Fred & Patty Turner Jazz Center. Christiansen will be joined by The Sam Salomone Trio and will appear as a guest soloist with the Des Moines Big Band on Monday, March 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Adventureland Inn in Altoona. Tickets for both concerts are $10 and $5 for students.

The Des Moines Symphony performs the music of Barber and Tchaikovsky on Saturday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 11 at 2:30 p.m. at the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines. Tickets are $15-$55 through Ticketmaster. The orchestra performs the same concert on Friday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Waukee High School Auditorium ($20 adults, $5 students).

The Devil Wears Prada, Every Time I Die, Let Live and Oh Sleeper play an all-ages show on Sunday, March 11 at 7 p.m. at People’s Court. Tickets are $17.50 through Ticketfly... Also, Cody Canada and Shooter Jennings ($20) perform March 29 as does the Soulfly 15th Anniversary Tour ($15) on April 15 at People’s.

The Greater Des Moines Music Coalition’s free “Music University” series will host a panel led by Andy Anderson on “Band Management” on Wednesday, March 14 at 6 p.m. at the House of Bricks.

Country music’s Craig Morgan plays Prairie Meadows on May 11. Tickets are $19-$49 through Ticketmaster.

Rapper Tech N9ne plays May 29 at 7 Flags Event Center. Tickets are $30 through Ticketmaster.

Comedian/bluegrass musician Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers play the Civic Center on June 23. Tickets, $46-$76, go on sale March 9 through Ticketmaster.

Iowa State Fair officials completed the Grandstand lineup last week by announcing that country-rock singer Miranda Lambert ($48) will perform Aug. 12 and ’80s rock stars Journey, Pat Benatar and Loverboy ($48) will play Aug. 18.
