Celebrate an Ingersoll staple

Ingersoll Wine & Spirits will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a special wine tasting event at the Hotel Fort Des Moines Grand Ballroom, 1000 Walnut St., on Friday, March 9 starting at 5:30 p.m. For this anniversary event, several brand representatives will be pouring more than 120 different kinds of wines, beers and spirits. Home and remodeling show

The 2012 Home & Remodeling Show will take place March 9-11 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Varied Industries Building, E. 30th St. and E. University Ave. The free event features a number of exhibitors and vendors as well as local professionals offering product demonstrations and seminars on topics such as green building techniques, landscaping, home technology and renovation. Derby Dames kick off new season

The Des Moines Derby Dames will kick off the 2012 season on Saturday, March 10 at the 7 Flags Event Center, 2100 N.W. 100th St. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the bout between the Derby Dames and Chicago Outfit Shade Brigade begins at 6 p.m. At 8 p.m., the Derby Dames B squad — Crash Test Dolls — will take on the Chicago Outfit Shakedown. Final art show

Finder’s Creepers, 515 18th St., will hold its last art show, “Going to Hell!,” on Saturday, March 10 before they close up shop to focus more on the online business. The show will feature both local and national artists as well as live painting, creepy treats, demon-themed art and films, a DJ spinning vinyl and live entertainment.
