FAIL
A man called police after he was allegedly
assaulted during a robbery attempt around 2
a.m. on March 1. He reportedly was walking home
from work at Walmart, with a couple bags of
groceries, when two men reportedly pulled up
in a car at the 100 block of Southeast Kenyon.
One got out and asked him how much money he
had, keeping one hand in his pocket as if he
were armed. The alleged victim said he had no
money, and tried to walk away. The suspect asked
for his groceries and cell phone, but the victim
kept walking, so the suspect reportedly hit
him in the back of the head and side of his
face. The victim took a few swings at him, and
the assailant got back in the car and fled without
taking any of the victim’s belongings.
KIDNAPPER NABBED
The alleged suspect reportedly “went into a
rage,” at the 2100 block of East 23rd Street,
on Feb. 29. Starting around midnight and continuing
for the next four hours, the suspect reportedly
beat a female victim repeatedly, accusing her
of stealing. She made many attempts to escape
the house, but he barricaded the door and screwed
the windows shut, and every time she got up,
he reportedly beat her back to the ground, punching
her multiple times in the head and kicking her
repeatedly in the ribs. He also reportedly broke
a chair over her head, slammed her against walls
and dragged her around by her hair. She was
finally able to call 911 from a cell phone,
and the call was traced. Officer arrived and
made the arrest, despite the suspect’s combative
resistance. He was charged with kidnapping,
enhanced domestic abuse assault and harassment.
She was taken to the hospital but declined a
protective order be issued.CV |
