Sometimes it takes a while to put two and two
together, at least for me. I have either seen
Forey Jacobson around town or glimpsed at photos
of him in a variety of places, but I never fully
connected the dots. From his janitorial work
at Johnston High School to dancing at bars downtown
to running in local races barefoot and in a
loin cloth, Jacobson has become a familiar face.
He was even one of the original nominations
in our Des Moines’ Sexiest People contest this
past fall. Simply said, Jacobson has become
an underground icon in the Des Moines scene.
So when that icon is brutally beaten in a senseless
attack, central Iowans literally come out of
the woodwork to help. Our cover story this week
tells the tales of Jacobson and his fight to
recover and regain his presence as the loin
king.
