Travel
The Des Moines City Council recently approved
Mayor T.M. Franklin Cownie to travel to Cedar
Rapids for an overnight stay, Dec. 7-8, in order
for him to attend a “Trees Forever Woodland
Legacy Symposium. Trees Forever is an non-profit,
environmental organization that assists people
and communities with improving and sustaining
the environment by planting and caring for trees,
native plants, prairies and other natural areas.
Trees Forever paid for the hotel room, and the
cost to attend the one-day symposium is $20.
But the trip still comes with a $175 price tag.CV |
