Burglary at the 7000 block of Bloomfield. A man called police after he and his wife and daughter began to notice things were missing from their home after they had been out for the day. When he returned home, he found the house unlocked and his bedroom light was on. When his daughter came home, she realized someone had gone through her bedroom and taken $2,000 worth of jewelry. That’s when they realized his wife’s jewelry was also missing, valued at $3,000, as well as an undisclosed amount of cash that he had been keeping in a drawer and a wedding ring with their family name engraved on it. Police have no suspects.

Dec. 6, sometime after 3 p.m.

Burglary at the 2500 block of County Line Road. A woman reported items missing and the smell of gas in her home. Police, medics and fire rescuers all responded. They discovered that the burner on the stove had been left on, and the suspect(s) had taken a jewelry box, jewelry, an i-phone, CDs and several credit cards. She told police she believes the suspect(s) also left the burner on. A neighbor reported having seen a red truck driving slowly through the parking lot earlier in the day, but no suspects have been named.

Dec. 5, 9:30 p.m.

Assault causing injury at the 700 block of Army Post Road. The victim told police he was assaulted the night before by two men while he was in the McDonald’s drive-thru. He said a man was following him and his friend too close while driving down the road, and then, when they got in line at the drive-thru, the suspect pulled up next to them. The victim said he jumped out of his friend’s vehicle and raised his arms. That’s when the driver of the other vehicle got out and pulled a gun on him, and the passenger got out and punched him in the eye. The suspects fled the scene. No arrests were made. CV
