The Wheeler Brothers, an Americana group from Austin, Texas, plays the Gas Lamp on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 8 p.m. Dan Tedesco opens. Admission is $5. ... Also, sultry blues-rock singer Sena Ehrhardt, who recently released her debut Blind Pig Records album “Leave the Light On,” plays the Gas Lamp on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 9 p.m. Admission is $6.

People’s Court hosts The Envy Corps ($12) with Quiet Corral and Usonia on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.; Reel Big Fish and Streetlight Manifesto ($20) with Lionize and Rodeo Ruby Love on Friday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.; Heatbox ($8) with More Than Lights on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 9 p.m.; and Mushroomhead ($15) with One Eyed Doll and others on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m.

Seger, who has sold more than 51 million albums in his career, recently released a career-spanning, double CD collection entitled “Ultimate Hits: Rock and Roll Never Forgets.” In September, he made digital history by offering fans a free 6-track bonus EP on iTunes to celebrate the release of his remastered multi-platinum albums “Nine Tonight” and “Live Bullet.” During the one week promotion, Seger gave his fans 1.6 million free download tracks.

Blues-rockers The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band play the Val Air Ballroom on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 8 p.m. Shepherd’s band includes singer Noah Hunt, drummer Chris Layton (Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble), keyboardist Riley Osbourn (Lyle Lovett) and bassist Tony Franklin (The Firm). His new album is entitled “How I Go.” Tickets are $25 through Ticketmaster.

Of the 387 total non-producer nominations announced last week for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, 194 were independent artists, spanning 87 percent of the categories. Few, however, will be seen during the televised portion of the awards ceremony. CV
