Blues-rockers The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band play the Val Air Ballroom on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 8 p.m. Shepherd’s band includes singer Noah Hunt, drummer Chris Layton (Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble), keyboardist Riley Osbourn (Lyle Lovett) and bassist Tony Franklin (The Firm). Of the 387 total non-producer nominations announced last week for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, 194 were independent artists, spanning 87 percent of the categories. Few, however, will be seen during the televised portion of the awards ceremony. CV
