Republicans are counting on President Obama
to do the right thing for the greater good of
the country. But, ironically, Republicans see
that as one of his main weaknesses to be exploited.
I guess if President Obama showed the same resolve
as Republicans at the expense of our nation's
vital economic interests, then Republicans would
see that as strength.

Warren Buffett is right when he declares that
he and his fellow "Buffetteers" are
winning. Is he also correct when he states that
we aren't seeing this? The truth at the door

She had her problems, but she's still
human
I was a little thrown back by Gary Wilson's
unempathetic and inhumane response to Amy Winehouse's
death ("Your View," July 28). I am
not sure if Mr. Wilson is attacking her, the
media, or both, but regardless of that, it astonishes
me that anyone could be so crass about another
individual's life.
All life should be considered precious, and
one should not be judged so harshly for their
misgivings. I'm shocked at such an attack, (consider
if this had been your daughter). It is just
another case of someone thrown into the media
circus unprepared. We did not know her and should
not judge her as if we did.
