Expanding good intentions
My intentions are always good this time of year. I want to see more live music,
catch a stage performance or two, attend a few more games, and just relax in
the great outdoors. With summer just around the corner and no shortage of events
in central Iowa, my weekends are bound to be packed with fun-filled entertainment.
Like many of you, I save this issue and use it as a guide to fill in the
open spots on my calendar, contacting friends to see if they want to join
in. The only problem is that there just isn't enough time in a few short
months to do it all. I have my tried-and-true events that I hit every year:
Iowa Cubs games, the Iowa State Fair, farmers' markets, Brewfest and a handful
of concerts. But this year I am going to expand my horizons and use this
guide to try some new adventures, too. I encourage you to do the same and
to develop a summer plan to take full advantage of everything central Iowa
has to offer.
Now get out and enjoy it. CV
