Terror resides at DMSC

3XWrestling will present “Reign of Terror II” on Friday, Feb. 4 at the Des Moines Social Club, 1408 Locust St. The matches begin at 7:30 p.m. and will include a feature 3XWrestling heavyweight title. Advance tickets are $12 or pay $15 at the door. Youth age 4 to 10 are $6, and children age 3 and younger are free. Toy show visits LHF

The eighth annual Farm Toy Show will take place on Saturday, Feb. 5 at Living History Farms, 11121 Hickman Road. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature antique and collectible farm toys from dozens of dealers. Admission is $3.50. Visit www.lhf.org.

 

Welcome in the Chinese New Year

The Iowa Chinese New Year Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5 at the DMACC Ankeny Campus Gym, 2006 S. Ankeny Blvd. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will celebrate the Year of the Rabbit and include martial arts, dragon and lion dancing, crafts, traditional music and food. Admission is free. The Iowa Chinese Achievement Award Ceremony will take place at the FFA Center on the Ankeny Campus from 2 to 5 p.m. Admission for the awards ceremony is $25 for the general public and $10 for members of the Chinese Association of Iowa. Skywalk putt-putt

The 26th annual Skywalk Golf Open Tournament will tee off at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5 in the downtown skywalks. The tournament covers the skywalk’s 3.2 miles and includes 18 holes. Visit www.downtowndesmoines.com.

 

Celebrate Reagan’s 100th

The Ronald Regan Film Festival will be held on Sunday, Feb. 6 at the Fort Des Moines Museum and Education Center, 75 E. Army Post Road. The party will begin at 2 p.m. and will celebrate Reagan’s 100th birthday at Fort Des Moines, the place he earned his commission as Second Lieutenant in 1937.
