Burglary in the 3100 block of Southwest 2nd Avenue. The victim reported she returned home and noticed the window was slightly open and items in her living room missing. She also stated that all the Christmas presents that were in her room were taken. Officers noticed that the suspect(s) knocked belongings off her dresser. The missing items including a laptop, clothes, puzzles and games, valued at approximately $900. The victim told officers that when she arrived home, both doors were still locked. Officers were unable to locate the suspect(s).
Dec. 18, 8:20 p.m.
Assault with motor vehicle in the 1600 block of Lyon Street. The victim reported the suspect came over to her residency because her relative owes him money. When the suspect arrived, he tried to run the victim over with his vehicle. The victim was able to escape for a short time, but the suspect tried again to hit her prior to fleeing the scene. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
Dec. 19, 1:10 to 1:20 p.m.
Aggravated burglary in the 1300 block of East Watrous. The victim told officers she was sleeping on the couch in the living room when she heard a knock at the door. The victim asked who it was, and the suspect answered, “Mailman or UPS.” The victim opened the door, and the suspect pushed his way inside the victim’s apartment. The suspect ran into the living room and demanded all her Christmas presents. The victim said, “No,” and then the suspect picked up the infant and said he would take the child instead. The victim grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened to stab the suspect. The suspect dropped the baby and fled in an unknown direction. Officers were unable to locate the suspect. CV
