Forceful and fearless in protecting Iowans rights
Many thanks for printing Michael Gartner’s story in a recent issue (“Justice is Blind,” Oct. 21). It has to be the most impressive writing on the issue out there. It should make anyone who reads it more proud to be an Iowan than they ever were before.
Iowans don’t want clean water?
Gov. Culver will lose the election for sure. He came out for clean water. Iowans don’t want clean water. Real Iowa politicians never even think about clean water. Pollution is a word never mentioned in Iowa except for a few environmental whackos. Come the day when all of us will drink bottled water from France. Maybe the French will trade their water for a pig or two and a bushel of corn. Probably not.
Have we suffered from amnesia?
The 2010 election is even more important than the 2008 election was. Everyone must remember to vote because we need strong leadership. There are a lot of important races, but the race for governor should be our biggest concern. Have we suffered from amnesia? Have we forgotten why Terry was referred to as “Governor Braindead?” Do you think he has gotten any smarter? We may have lost our memory; let’s hope we haven’t lost our minds.
