I-Jobs
Last week, Gov. Chet Culver announced the Iowa Transportation Commission approved up to $4,950,000 for the Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy (RISE) Immediate Opportunity grant application by the City of Johnston. The money will be made available to assist in the construction of approximately 7,755 feet of N.W. 62nd Avenue located in the center of town. The project will create 495 new jobs and more than $169 million in associated capital investments at the new and expanded Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc.’s facilities. I-JOBS is the three-year, $875 million initiative Culver intends to create jobs, strengthen the state’s economy and invest in Iowa’s infrastructure. CV
