June 7, 1 a.m.
Burglary in the 4400 block of Park Lawn Drive. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who stated that he returned to his residence to find his home had been broken into and multiple items were taken. The victim discovered that the basement window had been broken and that a pillow had been stuffed into it to prevent the glass from shattering. The victim stated that the missing items included three laptop computers, a 50-inch high definition television, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, 30 video games and a moneybox, totaling more than $7,900. The victim believes he knows who could be responsible for the burglary, but officers were unable to locate the suspect(s).
June 7, 5 p.m.
Domestic assault causing injury in the 6500 block of Chaffee Road. One of the witnesses claimed that the suspect was off her medications and she became abusive. While the group was packing their property to move, the suspect became physical and assaulted the victim. The suspect struck the victim multiple times with a mop, punched her in the back of the head and threw a glass item at her. The suspect fled in an unknown direction. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
June 9, 1:45 a.m.
Simple assault in the 200 block of Court Avenue. The victim stated that while she was speaking with the suspect, a former coworker, an argument erupted. The suspect smashed a plastic glass in the victim’s face, and then punched her when she dropped the glass. Others witnessed the assault and believes the suspect is suspect is upset because her employment was terminated. The suspect fled in an unknown direction, and officers were unable to locate the suspect. CV

Name: Kyle Dean Petersen
The story: At approximately 2:28 a.m. on June 9, officers were dispatched on a burglary report. Upon arrival, they found the victim and the suspect, later identified as Petersen, standing in the front yard. The victim told officers that Petersen was at her house earlier with a group of friends but left because he had become angry. The victim also told officers that on June 8 that she returned home and found her front door broken in. She called police and while waiting for them to arrive, Petersen walked up to the house and told them he kicked in the door because he thought she had once left her kids alone in the house. Petersen was taken to the Polk County Jail and charged with third-degree burglary and public intoxication.
