A few words for BP

Who would have imagined that an explosion two months ago could have created problems for so many, including BP with its stock market value dropping 40 percent? Trust in the petroleum giant is dwindling, and rightfully so. With BP’s costs for the spill now surpassing a reported $1.6 billion, this is a problem for everyone.

Just a few months ago, most Americans would have said that BP was an acronym for blood pressure. Now with blood pressure rising, U.S. citizens are creating a bunch of other slick names for the petroleum giant. We collected many of those in a list that seems to fit better than British Petroleum.
Let’s start with the financial suggestions. “Barely Profitable” explains what the company may soon be. Or “Bankruptcy Prediction” might fit better. Some have referred to BP as “Billionaire Polluters” over their “Bloody Profits.”
Then there’s the political finger pointing in this mess, with “Barack’s Problem” or “Blame Palin.”
The environmental damage left behind this spill has led some to call BP “Bumbling Parasites” and “Beach Polluters.” Others are referring to the company now as the “Black Pest.”
The frustration that many Americans feel is summed up with “Beyond Patience,” “Boiling Point,” “Broken Promises” and “Beyond Pathetic.”
And the harshest of critics have named the company “Butthole Producers,” “Blowhard Providers,” “British Pricks,” “Brain Poor,” “Being Pompous,” “Bastard Psychos,” “Bonehead Players” and “Back Peddlers.”
Some now appropriately describe the spill as a “Big Problem,” “Bungled Plugjob,” “Burst Pipeline,” “Blown Pipe” and “Bringing Pain.”
Those who see light at the end of the tunnel offer, “Begin Praying.”
Looking back, BP may best be described as “Bad Planning.”
Looking forward, “Banish Petroleum” and “Banned Permanently” seem fitting as Americans warn, “Better Plugit.”

And finally, in adding to the “Bad Press” for BP, our favorite words that seem to best describe the mess we are in — “Bull Poop.” CV
