No, it’s not the Iowa State Fair yet, but a group of classic rock all-stars, ironically named Classic Rock All Stars, performs Thursday, June 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds for the annual pork exposition. The band’s members include Sugarloaf keyboardist-singer Jerry Corbetta, Iron Butterfly guitarist-singer Mike Pinera and Rare Earth singer-drummer Peter Rivera. Visit www.classicrockallstars.com.


Veteran Texas bluesman and lap-steel guitarist Sonny Rhodes performs Friday, June 11 at 9:30 p.m. at Blues on Grand. Admission is $10.


Former Iowa rockers Euforquestra play Friday, June 11 at People’s Court at 9 p.m. Admission is $10.


Eight Iowa bands perform Saturday, June 12 for WineJAM Uncorked at the Blue Room, 4611 S.W. 9th St, from noon to midnight, followed by a jam. Performers include Kevin “B.F.” Burt, Blues From the Heartland (Rob Lumbard & Curry Harter), Blue Sky Band, VooDoo3, Chad Elliott, Bonne Finken and the Collective and Bella Soul featuring Tina Haase Findlay. The South Skunk Blues Society hosts the 18th annual Bowlful of Blues at Maytag Park in Newton on Saturday, June 12. Eddie Shaw and the Wolfgang will headline the day-long festival, which begins at 1 p.m. and includes performances by Shannon Curfman, Matt Woods and The Thunderbolts, Houndstooth, The Accidental Brothers and Dustin Busch. Gold Motel and Skybox play an all-ages show on Sunday, June 13 at 6 p.m. at the Vaudeville Mews. Admission is $8.


Jam-grass group Yonder Mountain String Band performs Sunday, June 13 at 8 p.m. at Simon Estes Amphitheater. Tickets are $20 through Midwestix.
Music Under the Stars resumes on Sunday, June 13 at 6:30 p.m. with a free performance by the Iowa Military Veterans Band at the State Capitol’s West Terrace.


The Des Moines Symphony will host a singing competition “Oh Say, Can You Sing?” at noon in the courtyard between the Downtown Public Library and Temple for Performing Arts on Monday, June 14. The winner gets to sing with the symphony at their annual Yankee Doodle Pops Concert on July 1, and receives season tickets.


Emery, Queens Club, Sent by Ravens and Kiros play an all-ages show on Wednesday, June 16 at 5 p.m. at the House of Bricks. Tickets are $15 through Midwestix.


The Dangerous Summer performs Aug. 4 at the House of Bricks. Tickets are $10 through Midwestix.


The June 28 Interpol show has been canceled. Tickets are being refunded through Midwestix.


Two newly added shows playing Simon Estes Amphitheater: Sister Hazel on July 2 and Gov’t Mule with Jackie Greene on Aug. 22. Tickets are $15 and $29.50, respectively, through Midwestix.
