May 30, 7:05 p.m.
Robbery in the 2800 block of 6th Avenue. The victim reported she was washing her car when a white Dodge Durango drove up behind her. A black male then exited the vehicle and struck her in the head and side with a “stick.” The suspect also told her, “I will kill you bitch.” The victim defended herself with her fists and said she used the scrub brush from the car wash to hit the suspect. The suspect then took her purse and fled the scene in an unknown direction. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
May 31, 7:20 p.m.
Assault causing injury in the block of Southeast 17th Street and East Pleasantview Drive. The victim claimed he was at a cookout at his cousins when the suspect became angry and attacked him. The victim reported he was struck and scratched several times before he could escape. Officers observed that the victim was clearly intoxicated and that he could not provide a positive address of where the assault took place. The victim also refused rescue. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
June 1, 6:30 p.m.
Third-degree burglary in the 3700 block of Southeast 14th Street. Officers met with the victim, who is confined to a wheelchair, who stated that she returned from the grocery store and was putting away items when she heard someone enter through the sliding door. The victim thought it was her daughter who had entered the apartment, but it was not. The suspect took a black bag that contained three diamond rings, a watch, checkbook and debit and credit cards, valued at approximately $4,000. Officers were unable to locate the suspect. CV
Busted
Name: Aenoy Prathane
The story: Officers responded to a report of a domestic fight between a male, later identified as Prathane, and a female who were choking each other in a front yard. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who told them that there had been a verbal argument that escalated to a physical altercation. The victim said that Prathane pushed her to the ground where he choked her until she began to black out. The victim was able to catch the attention of a neighbor who knocked Prathane off her with a push broom. Officers observed scratches around the victim’s neck, and she complained of pain in her throat. While in handcuffs, Prathane was able to pull away from officers and led them on a four-block chase. Prathane was later apprehended without incident and taken to the Polk County Jail where he was charged with assault domestic abuse with intent or with a weapon and interference with official acts.
