May 16-17

 

May 16, 1:18 a.m.
Domestic assault in the 3200 block of East 7th Street. The pregnant victim reported she was depressed and started drinking to the point of intoxication. The father of the unborn child took offense to the woman’s actions and confronted her. The dispute began physical and ended with the suspect striking the victim in the face. The victim sustained a bruised right eye, swollen nose and chipped tooth. The victim stated the man then left with an unknown individual. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

 

May 17, 5:25 p.m.
Assault with a weapon in the 200 block of East McKinley Avenue. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim who stated that he went upstairs. At that point, the suspect came to the door and started yelling and swinging a knife at him. The suspect then pushed the victim, causing to him to fall down the stairs. The victim suffered a small cut to his arm. Officers went to the suspect’s residency but were unable to make contact or locate him.

 

May 17, 7 p.m.
Assault causing injury in the 400 block of East Army Post Road. During a basketball game at the YMCA, the victim and the suspect “had words” after the suspect continually asked the victim to fight. Both individuals exchanged punches, but “made amends” after the victim received a fat lip. The two continued playing, and then the suspect flared the situation up again after being egged on by two unknown males. The victim then left the gym with a witness and while trying to leave in a car, the suspect, accompanied by two males, tried to pull him from the car to fight. The suspect’s attempt was unsuccessful. Officers were unable to locate the suspect(s).CV

 

Busted

 

Name: Christina Bell
The story: As the victim was driving home, she approached an intersection of a red light. At the same time, the victim stated there were two females and two males walking across the street against the light. One female, later identified as Bell, was pushing a baby in a stroller. The victim stated that she had allowed enough time and distance for the group to cross the street. Bell then approached the victim’s car and began to scream that she almost ran over her child. Bell became more agitated and began to hit the victim with her fists. The victim suffered cuts to her mouth, a bloody nose and cuts under her eyes. Officers were able to locate Bell and she was placed under arrest without incident. Bell was taken to the Polk County Jail and charged with assault causing injury.
