The Clubhouse

Two bars rolled into one

Over the past couple of years The Clubhouse has gone through many changes. The ski-lodge-type style it originally had is long gone. The facility has changed from a neighborhood bar to dance club to a gay/lesbian bar then back to a dance club. New owners Roger and Paul Singh have changed it back to its origin, offering a fun neighborhood/sports bar on the lower level and a more dance club orientated upstairs on its two other levels.

“This place is a very nice bar, and I remember coming here a long time ago when it was The Loft,” said Roger Singh. “I had always wanted to own this bar, and it fell into place a few months ago.”

Even though the look of the inside has changed, it still has one of the best bathrooms in town. When males need to relieve themselves, they can do so without taking their eyes off the bar action. Above the urinals, a large fish tank sits and allows patrons a unique urinating experience.

“Everyone asks about the fish tank,” Singh said. “It’s probably the most popular part of the bar.”

The Clubhouse offers an array of daily specials. Every day from 4 to 8 p.m., patrons can enjoy $1.50 draws, domestic bottles and well drinks. On Monday, stop in for the $5 all-you-can-drink beer bust from 8 p.m. to midnight. On Tuesday, enjoy $2.50 Captain Morgan drinks and $3 Jack Daniels drinks from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. and $1.50 domestic draws all night. Wednesday offers $2.50 wells, $4 Grey Goose drinks and $5 Patron shots from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. On Thursday, stop in for $4 Bombs, $2.50 Captain Morgan drinks and $3 Jack Daniels drinks from 8 p.m. to close. Try $5 domestic pitchers on Saturday and cure your weekend hangover with $3 Bloody Marys and Mimosas, as well as $5 domestic pitchers.

“Our nightly drink specials are great, and our customers love them,” Singh said.

Although the bar doesn’t serve food, patrons can still enjoy some grub. A grill can always be set up, and the owners encourage customers to bring in their own food, grill it the way they like and enjoy it with some drinks inside The Clubhouse.

“We want people to feel like they are at home,” Singh said. “We have the grill going every Tuesday and Thursday night, but anytime a customer wants to grill, we’ll set it up.”

The bar will hold its first annual Memorial Bash on Sunday, May 30. Patrons can enjoy numerous red, white and blue drink specials including $4 Bombpop martinis and $2 Bombpop shots.

“It’s going to be a great party, and we’re expecting a big crowd since customers won’t have to work on Monday,” Singh said.

The Clubhouse offers patrons the best of both worlds — a relaxed neighborhood bar atmosphere on the lower level and a high-octane dance club upstairs.

“We’re very conveniently located right off I-235 and offer a fun and relaxing atmosphere with great music,” Singh said. “We’re a party bar, so people know when they stop in they are going to have a great time.” CV
