Travel
The Des Moines City Council recently approved $2,273 for Angela Dierenfeld, senior identification technician, to attend the “Advanced ACE-V Applications for Latent Print Examiners” course in Pasadena, Calif., from June 5 to 11. The course is the next in a series of courses required for certification. The council also approved $1,336.44 for Sgt. Garey Bryan to attend the 16th Annual IACP Training Conference on Drugs, Alcohol and Impaired Driving in Pittsburgh, Penn., from July 21 to 25. The training will allow for recertification as a DRE Instructor for the State of Iowa. The amended budget for travel for the 2010 fiscal year is $635,499. The amount expended for travel for the 2010 fiscal year as of April 19 is $264,013. CV
