April 19, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Burglary in the 4000 block of 57th Street. The victim returned home and discovered that someone had entered her residency. It appeared that several items had been moved, and liquor bottles were missing from her kitchen counter. It also appeared that the suspect(s) entered the home, watched television, ate some food and used two glasses to drink a beverage. The victim stated this is the third incident in the last two weeks when the suspect(s) have entered her home. Last week, a laptop computer was stolen. The victim believes the suspect is someone she knows. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
April 19, unknown time
Burglary in the 900 block of Polk Boulevard. The victim stated she left her window open when she left for work. Upon returning home, she discovered that four cupcakes were missing. Officers also met with a neighbor who stated she believed she saw the suspect on the victim’s front porch. The victim believes the suspect may be someone she knows. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
April 19, 6:42 p.m.
Domestic assault in the 1900 block of Southeast 6th Street. Officers met with the victim who stated she and her boyfriend, the suspect, had been dating for eight months but recently have been fighting. The suspect allegedly became possessive and controlling, and the victim told officers she was going to end the relationship. The suspect then exited the car and slammed the door. He yelled at the victim, and the victim told him not to slam the door. The suspect then smacked her open-handed on both sides of her face. The suspect then fled the scene. There were no witnesses to the assault, and the victim didn’t appear to have any red marks on her face. Officers were unable to locate the suspect. CV
Busted
Name: Timothy Neades, Dennis Neades
The story: Officers met with the suspects, later identified as Timothy Neades and Dennis Neades, at the Des Moines North Side Library. Dennis stated his brother, Timothy, was upset because he wasn’t able to work on a car. Dennis said Timothy called his cell phone several times and was “going to beat the shit out of him.” A short time later, Timothy arrived and was yelling and screaming and was swinging a large wooden stick. Dennis, who picked up a snow shovel, said he stepped outside and attempted to speak to Timothy. Timothy became enraged swung a machete at Dennis and nearly struck him in the left shoulder area. The two were taken into custody without incident. Timothy was charged with assault with a weapon and disorderly conduct. Dennis was charged with disorderly conduct.
