April 11-13
April 11-12, 2 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Burglary in the 1600 block of East Capitol Avenue. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who stated that their electrical power had been shut off so the family did not spend the night. While away from the residence, unknown suspect(s) entered an unknown door or window and went upstairs and removed the victim’s property. Items missing were a sleeping machine, a 47-inch flatscreen television, valued at more than $4,000, along with an unknown amount of medicine. Officers were unable to locate the suspect(s).
April 12, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Burglary in the 1100 block of 63rd Street. The victim reported that unknown suspect(s) had broken through the back patio window. The victim stated the items missing were a digital camera, two video game consoles, five video games and a BB gun, valued at more than $1,150. The suspect(s) appeared to rummage through the victim’s drawers and closets. Nothing else in the house was damaged. Officers stated that the house next door was broken into the same way. Officers were unable to locate the suspect(s).
April 13, 4:05 a.m.
Robbery in the 3700 block of Beaver Avenue. Upon arrival, officers met with two store clerks who advised them that an alleged white male wearing a purple and gray hoodie, jeans and a white bandana over his faced entered the store with a paper bag in one hand in a two-inch blade in the other. The suspect told the clerk, “This is a robbery, and I want all your money.” The clerk emptied the drawer into the suspect’s paper bag. The suspect then ran out the building’s north doors in an unknown direction with an unknown amount of money. The suspect was recorded on multiple cameras. Officers were unable to locate the suspect. Busted
Name: Rhonda Gavin
The story: The victim reported her neighbor, later identified as Gavin, had approached her while she was mowing her lawn and attempted to hit her in the head with a piece of concrete. The victim stated to officers that there has been a history of Gavin threatening and harassing her, and officers had already previously visited the residency and recommended neighborhood mediation. Witnesses also claim Gavin attempted to hit the victim while she was mowing her yard. The victim had no visible injuries. Gavin was arrested without incident and taken to the Polk County Jail.
