Travel

The Des Moines City Council recently approved $1,785 for David Knutzen, senior fire inspector, to attend the 2010 International Association of Arson Investigators annual general meeting and conference in Orlando, Fla., from May 16 to 21. The curriculum enhances skills via new methods and techniques in the field of fire investigation. The council also approved $1,642 for Diane Rauh, city clerk, to attend the 64th Annual Conference. Taking place in Reno, Nev., the conference will enable Rauh to exchange ideas regarding citizen’s demands, legal changes in procedures and new information technologies to plan and expedite different tasks.
