It can’t be that hard, seriously

I have been the sales manager for this newspaper for the past five years. In looking for a new but similar role, I convinced our publisher, Shane Goodman, to hire me as editor. We all knew that when Shane added the editor tasks to his role a couple years ago, he never intended it to be for the long haul; he was just waiting for the right person! Well, the search is over!

Sure, I don’t have much interest in politics, I rarely go out on the nightlife scene and I don’t even read Cityview, but, really, how hard can this job be?

A lot of editors have come and gone during my tenure here, people like Michael Swanger, Jon Gaskell (twice), Justin Kendall and Erin Crawford seemed to make it work. Even with Shane as editor, the paper is being read by more people than ever before in its 20 years. And if he can do it, then this should be a piece of cake — angel food, I hope! Seriously, this isn’t rocket science. I got a pretty smile, a great attitude, and gosh darn it, people like me. And as soon as I am done re-decorating my new office, I am going to work on this newspaper. I hope you guys like mauve and lavender!

I know some of you are probably thinking that hiring me as editor may have been a foolish move, but I promise you it will be fun! Seriously!

Three cheers for Cityview!!! Rah, rah, rah!
