‘Kazoo Hero’
A simple melody

For the past couple of years, America’s fingers have been strumming to the popularity of the “Guitar Hero” and “Rock Band” series. But gamers have said, “enough, already” with the lame, never-ending line that includes “Guitar Hero: Aerosmith,” “Guitar Hero: Metallica” and “Guitar Hero: Van Halen.” With the aforementioned reaching its prime, creators of the musical enterprise have now produced “Kazoo Hero.” And never has a game been so simple, yet so entertaining.

Contrary to “Guitar Hero,” players blow in the mouthpiece of the kazoo and try to match the airflow pattern that is presented onscreen. Points are accumulated by humming certain pitches that are then registered by the console. Increased airflow or harder blowing will result in a more effective or authoritative sound.

“Kazoo,” which has three different levels of difficulty — easy, hard and smoking — offers users a wide variety of songs such as “Hot Cross Buns” and “Smoke on the Water” on easy and “Beat It” on hard. The game also supports multiplayer mode where users can blow collaboratively to create harmonic melodies. When users reach a certain note percentage correctly, they are able to unlock the master level that features “Jesus Loves Me” and “The Alphabet Song.” Keep the lip balm handy. CV
