Have a Ladies’ Night out
The 2010 Hy-Vee Ladies’ Night will take place Friday, March 26 at the Hy-Vee Conference Center, 5820 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. The event, which runs from 4 to 9 p.m., will include fashion shows, cosmetic consultations, wine, hors d’oeuvres, music and shopping. Proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Visit the zoo
The Blank Park Zoo, 7401 S.W. 9th St., will host two “Wildlife Conservation Series,” beginning with the International Elephant Foundation (IEF) on Saturday, March 27. The evening starts at 5:30 p.m. On Sept. 11, the Blank Park Zoo will host “An Evening for African Predators.” Both events will feature guest speakers, social hour, dinner, presentation and auction. Open house scheduled
The 6th Avenue Corridor Board of Directors will host an open house on Tuesday, March 30 at the River Trace Community Center, 1717 6th Ave. The event runs from 4 to 6 p.m. and will give citizens an opportunity to welcome Alecia Kates, who has been named the executive director of the organization. The corridor was designated one of the first Urban Neighborhood Main Street Districts in Iowa by the Iowa Department of Economic Development in May 2009. Gala fundraiser set in East Village
East Village in downtown Des Moines will host its annual Gala fundraising event on Tuesday, March 30 at the Iowa State Bar Association, 625 E.
