Find your Irish heritage
The Iowa Genealogical Society Library (IGS), 628 E. Grand Ave., will host a number of “March Madness” events from Saturday, March 20 to Sunday, March 21. “Beginning Genealogy” will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 and allow participants to learn how to begin family history projects. Admission is free. At 1:30 p.m., participants can celebrate Irish heritage, explore Irish resources and research techniques. Cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. At 4 p.m., the IGS will begin its “Research Slumber Party” where participants can join others to find missing ancestors on your family tree. Cost is $25 per person, which includes supper. Rumble at Ramada
The RoundKick Rumble XV will be held Saturday, March 20 at the Ramada Tropics Resort and Conference Center, 5000 Merle Hay Road. Girl Power Luncheon scheduled
The First Annual Girl Power Business Luncheon will be held March 25 at the Foxboro Conference Center, 6165 N.W. 86th St. in Johnston. The event, which runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., is focused on empowering women to find their inner wisdom, follow their passion live a rich fulfilled life.
