March 1-4
March 1, 7:35 a.m. to 5:53 p.m.
Burglary in the 2300 block of E. 12th Street. The victim stated she returned from work to find her front door kicked open and television, valued at $800, missing. It appeared the suspect(s) forced the door open and also took an Xbox 360 gaming system, and wireless modem, valued collectively at approximately $350. Officers were unable to locate the suspect(s).
March 3, 5 to 9 p.m.
Burglary 3000 block of Sixth Avenue. Victim stated he returned home and found the front door open and items missing were a 32-inch flat screen television and laptop computer, valued collectively at more than $1,000. It appeared the suspect(s) did not walk through house but only took the first valuable items they saw. Officers were unable to locate the suspect(s).
March 4, 3 p.m.
Assault in the 6000 block of Creston Avenue. Officers were tipped on an assault charge. Officers met with the victim who stated that a black male assaulted him because he wouldn’t give him a ride. The victim said that he knows the suspect, and that they used to be friends. The victim stated the suspect punched him several times causing redness and swelling on the left side of his face. Officers were unable to locate the suspect. CV
Busted
Name: Duane Lee Daniel
The story: Officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Hubbell Avenue on a fight with a weapon. Upon arrival, officers met with the reporting person and the victim. Officers observed a small laceration on the left side of the victim’s face. Both the reporting person and victim stated they were playing pool with the suspect, later identified as Daniel. The victim said he went to the bar and sat next to the reporting person to get a drink when the victim felt a tap on his shoulder. Then Daniel punched the victim in the mouth. Both then observed a six-inch knife in Daniel’s hand. Daniel then left the bar, and officers located him walking along Hubbell Avenue. Daniel denied punching the victim, but stated he did have a knife in his possession. Daniel was taken into custody and charged with assault causing injury.
