Jan. 25, 4:28 p.m.
Robbery in the 1600 block of 6th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, a store employee, who stated he observed a black male taking a beer out of the cooler at the store. The suspect began to leave the store, and the victim asked where the beer was. The suspect told him that another male standing in line had it. The suspect then exited the building, and the victim followed him out. The victim stated he observed the suspect pull a beer from his jacket and throw it in a snow pile. The victim said the suspect pulled a large knife, and he ran back inside the store. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
Jan. 25, 9 p.m.
Assault causing injury in the 1500 block of 22nd Street. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who claimed she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend and held against her will. The victim said she was getting into a friend’s vehicle when the suspect saw her, went over to the vehicle and dragged her out. The suspect then punched the victim in the head and kicked her in the back. The victim was able to escape and call for help. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
Jan. 24, 5:36 a.m.
Burglary in the 800 block of Payton Avenue. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who stated she was awakened by a noise coming from the window in her living room. The victim said he saw an arm coming through the window and tearing the plastic sheet used for insulation. The victim shouted at the intruder who left. The victim did not notice any property missing. Officers were unable to locate the suspect. CV
The story: Officers were dispatched on a report of a possible assault in progress. Upon arrival, officers found the victim and the suspect, later identified as Langham, sitting in a car just west of an intersection. The victim stated Langham attempted to choke him while he was driving. Langham told officers he asked the victim to give him a ride to buy drugs, and when they stopped at a Git-N-Go, he went into the store and left his wallet in the car. When Langham returned, he said his wallet was gone. The victim said he never saw a wallet, and then Langham assaulted him. Langham was handcuffed without incident and transported to the Polk County Jail. Langham was charged with simple assault.
